Carlo Ancelotti Named As the New Manager of Paris Saint Germain

Paris Saint Germain (PSG) new coach Carlo Ancelotti, left, of Italy, arrives with sports director Leonardo, of Brazil, to a press conference at the Parc des Princes stadium in Paris, Friday, Dec.30, 2011. Carlo Ancelotti was formally presented on Friday in Paris as the new manager of PSG. He has been a SKY Italia pundit since his sacking at Chelsea last year.

Leonardo on his New Manager:

"Ancelotti doesn't need any introduction. His fantastic history speaks for itself."

Carlo Ancelotti:

"I hope to do a great job. I'll do everything to learn French in the best way possible even if I prefer to continue the press conference in Italian. My role? To be on the pitch with the players. With the club, there is a unity of intentions."

On David Beckham and the Transfer Market:

"The club management will handle the transfer market. I don't know what David (Beckham) wants to do. He'll need to think over things because there are personal questions that concern his family. I don't believe it's good to speak today of names because you find players who are established in other clubs. Besides, speaking about them will only drive up their prices from their clubs."

On His Backroom Staff:

There will be Ray Wilkins, his assistant at Chelsea and also the athletic trainer, Giovanni Mauri, "who worked with me in Milan for eight years and then at Chelsea, and Claude Makelele, as an assistant coach.

Moreover, the goalkeeper's coach, Gilles Bourges, will stay on, together with the athletic trainers who worked with Antione Kombouare. We still need to define a few positions. We'll do that in the coming days and they will be communicated to you."
